Lesley Michalegko is a regulatory attorney whose practice focuses on the legal and policy frameworks governing health data privacy, health information networks and exchanges, community information exchanges, interoperability, artificial intelligence, and emerging consumer data protection laws. She works closely with clients navigating complex federal and state regulatory regimes where health care delivery, data use, and technology intersect, including HIPAA and related privacy laws, interoperability mandates, information-sharing frameworks, and evolving AI governance considerations.
Before joining Coppersmith Brockelman, Lesley built a multidisciplinary foundation across academic research, civil litigation support, and public policy. She most recently served as a project manager at Arizona State University overseeing federally funded science, technology and environmental policy research. Additionally, she served as a law clerk at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office Civil Litigation Division. During law school, Lesley served as a Law, Science and Innovation Scholar and a McCarthy Institute Intellectual Property Fellow.
