August 27, 2015 – Andy Gordon, a partner with Coppersmith Brockelman and former Counsel to the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, weighed in on the great immigration debate, specifically about the pragmatic relationship between immigration and foreign policy, and the roles of federal and state governments in managing that relationship.

In the August 27 edition of the Arizona Capitol Times, the state’s leading publication devoted to Arizona politics and news, Andy uses his extensive experience in national security issues and political law to frame the issue.

As Andy notes, while candidates are busy talking tough on immigration and offering widely differing – from physical walls to paths to citizenship for those entering illegally – the reality is these opinions are largely rhetoric that runs high during elections and not fueled by the current realities.
