Melissa practices in the area of regulatory health care law, assisting clients in structuring real-world policies, programs and agreements to ensure innovative health care practices are compliant with state and federal laws, while maximizing client goals. She is developing a focus in HIPAA compliance and data breaches, electronic health records and health information exchanges, data sharing for research and clinical integration, and clinical research compliance and contracting.

Melissa was the salutatorian of her graduating class from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University; clerked for the Honorable Judge Mary Schroeder on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; and achieved the second-highest test score on the 2011 Arizona State Bar Exam. She started her legal career as a civil litigator and is now using her successes in court to counsel health care clients on how to structure their businesses and goals to avoid future litigation.
