With a deep commitment to the community and passionate about health care issues, Karen Owens has been elected to the governance board for Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS). Founded in Phoenix in 1935, JFCS provides behavioral health and social services to people of all ages in accordance with a Jewish value system. Based on her extensive experience in health care law, Karen understands the important role that JFCS’ social services play in the community. The Arizona Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, one of the most prominent nonprofit organizations in the Valley, has named Andy Gordon, partner at Coppersmith Brockelman, as the chairman of the Board of Trustees for 2016-17. A board member since 2011, Andy is a myeloma survivor and two-time stem cell transplant recipient. His first-hand knowledge and experience will allow him to lead the Board from a unique perspective.
