Prevailing in 11 lawsuits related to Arizona’s 2020 General Election and working with business executives, criminal justice advocates, first responders, and others led to Roopali Desai’s selection as an In Business 2021 Woman of Achievement.

One of 14 women who will be honored at the publication’s Oct. 8 event, Roopali is also one of three who will share her story in an eight-minute TED Talk-style speech. Chosen because her story is especially inspiring, she will highlight some key defining moments from her career.

The last year alone provides tremendous material. Arizona Capitol Times selected Roopali as Best Capitol/Political Lawyer in its 2021 Best of the Capitol Awards, and Business Insider named her one of 11 power players shaping Arizona’s recreational cannabis market. Additionally, she represented the Arizona Democrats in a lawsuit to stop a ballot audit.

In addition to delivering outstanding results to her political, business, and pro bono clients, Roopali serves on the boards of the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest and Save Our Schools Arizona.
